Konami signs Kuju for new original title

First European developer to sign a major original title with Japanese giant

UK developer Kuju Entertainment has been chosen by Konami to develop an original home console game for the giant Japanese publisher, making it the first European development team ever to sign a major game with the company.

Few details of the game are available as yet, but we understand that it is an original title and will be developed at Kuju's London studio, located in Blackfriars. This brings the number of titles under development at Kuju to four.

"We're extremely pleased to be working with Konami," enthused Kuju business development director Ian Baverstock. "They're a publisher that we've greatly admired so we're looking forward to working with them."

"Kuju impressed us with their vision for this game which, combined with their professional approach and technical skills made them an obvious choice," according to Tony Bickley, European development manager at Konami of Europe.

Konami is the second major Japanese publisher to show a keen interest in signing UK developers in the past month; prior to E3, Sega announced that it will be publishing titles from Team 17 (Worms 3D) and Climax / Games Workshop (Warhammer Online).
