Konami secures distribution deal with Atari Australia

Japanese publisher secures distributor for region, following Red Ant's decent into administration

Konami has announced it has decided to continue its relationship with Atari Australia to distribute its titles in the region.

The company had been looking to switch to Australian distributor Red Ant, however the company's move into administration earlier this month seems to have forced Konami to back off from the deal.

"Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH today announced with immediate effect that it will continue its relationship with Atari Australia, a subsidiary of Infogrames Entertainment," the company said in a statement.

"In view of the changing distribution landscape in Australia and the challenging economic times Konami Digital Entertainment GmbH has reached agreement with Atari Australia that Atari will continue to distribute Konami titles in Australia and New Zealand for the immediate future. The two companies have enjoyed a strong relationship for a number of years and are pleased to continue working together."
