Konami details MGO tournament

Konami has announced a European Metal Gear Online Championship, with the first competition being held today.

There will be four preliminary tournaments each week featuring teams of six players facing off in the online game's Team Deathmatch: Direct Elimination mode. Each match will last for one round of 15 minutes and the best two teams will advance to the European Final Tournaments in September.

The competition is open to all players over 18 in the PAL territories and carries the prize of a luxury trip to Tokyo, Japan, between October 9-13. Once in Japan, the winning team will be entered for the Grand World Finals at this year's Tokyo Game Show.
