Kesselman named Rebel Monkey CTO

Jeff Kesselman, the man behind Sun Labs' Project Darkstar, has been appointed CTO of casual games company Rebel Monkey following stints at Total Entertainment Network and Crystal Dynamics.

Rebel Monkey is currently working on a "web-based gaming environment" that it is hoped Kesselman will be able to help deploy on a "massive worldwide scale", according to the company's CEO Margaret Wallace.

And Kesselman added: "Rebel Monkey is breaking new ground by creating social environments that focus on entirely new kinds of gaming experiences. I look forward to joining the highly talented team at Rebel Monkey and to work toward accelerating the company's rapid growth toward market prominence."

Rebel Monkey was set up in 2007 by Wallace and Nick Fortugno, and in February this year announced that it had secured USD 1 million in financing from Redpoint Ventures.
