Jeremy Wigmore to step down as Atari UK boss

Atari UK's managing director Jeremy Wigmore is to step down from his position this month, GamesIndustry.biz has learned.

Sources have stated that Wigmore is already on leave, with official confirmation expected later this month, although his destination is unclear. When contacted by GamesIndustry.biz, Atari UK declined to comment.

While the UK MD is on his way out, new, high-profile staff have joined the publisher and its parent company Infogrames as its seeks to reboot business in 2008 and beyond.

Former EA exec David Gardner joined Infogrames as chief executive in January, as Patrick Leleu, chairman and CEO stepped down.

This was followed by Phil Harrison, previously Sony's worldwide studios boss, taking the role of president of Infogrames in March this year.

Both executives are taking on the task of transforming the company, with a renewed focus on online and PC gaming at the forefront of the publisher's future projects.
