Sales of gaming hardware have slowed in Japan according to the latest data from Media Create.

The Nintendo DS and Wii were still the best-sellers by quite a margin, shifting 135,804 and 61,498 units respectively, but these figures were down on last week's numbers of 150,584 and 77,169, and are the lowest for several weeks.

Sony's triumvirate took up the next three positions, with the PlayStation Portable once again outselling the Playstation 3. They sold 33,886 and 24,289 units each.

The PlayStation 2 was the only console of note to buck the trend, likely due to the release of the latest Winning Eleven title on that platform, selling 12,784 units up from 11,757.

Microsoft sold just 2,691 Xbox 360 consoles, down from 3,872 the previous week.
