ION conference announces new keynote speaker

The founder and CEO of Sanrio Digital and Outblaze, Yat Siu, will deliver the third evening keynote speech at the 2008 ION Game Conference on May 15th, the event organisers have announced.

Sanrio Digital is behind the Hello Kitty Brand, including Hello Kitty Online, and Outblaze is a provider of hosted email and messaging services for online communities. Siu's speech at the event in Seattle will be on casual gaming, social networking and MMOGs.

"I am looking forward to learning a great deal at ION 2008 and sharing the lessons I have acquired in Asia-Pacific," explained Siu.

"I will be addressing three particularly exciting trends of the industry today: the first is online gaming, including casual gaming; the second is the proliferation of social networking; the third is the abundant population of female gamers, who are not often targeted by big budget game releases."

"Tapping all three trends simultaneously is likely to produce some very interesting results," he added.

Siu will be joining other keynote speakers at the event such as John Smedley, president of Sony Online Entertainment and Won Il Suh, vice president of Neowiz.
