– Edge – the world’s most prestigious games media brand, has announced details of a brand new category to be presented at the 26th Annual Golden Joystick Awards – together with Virgin Media

The Edge “Most Wanted” category gives gamers the chance to have their say on the very best games currently in development for release in 2008 and beyond. By teaming with Edge, the Golden Joystick Awards are letting gamers have their say on what they believe will be a future classic, alongside the 15 other gamer voted categories which celebrate all that was good about gaming in the last 12 months.

So far, the 26th Annual Golden Joystick Awards – together with Virgin Media has attracted over half a million votes – with gamers voting in categories as diverse as Family Game of the Year, Soundtrack of the Year and the Virgin Media Ultimate Game of the Year.

The first-ever Edge “Most Wanted” Golden Joystick has a shortlist of 10 games, handpicked by a panel of leading experts – headed by Edge’s Editor-in-Chief Tony Mott and Edge-Online Editor, Colin Campbell.

Gamers across the globe can have vote on the Edge Most Wanted and as many of the other categories as they want by visiting www.goldenjoystick.com now! Gamers in the UK who have already voted in the Golden Joysticks are able to cast their vote for the brand new Edge Award by texting 87474 with their vote, by using the unique EDGE code. Texts cost 25p and existing voters will be a chance of winning a fantastic gaming prize.
