GC: Ubisoft backs Games for Windows

Commits to Microsoft's PC gaming brand

Ubisoft is the latest publisher to sign up for Microsoft's Games for Windows, as it brings The Settlers: Rise of an Empire to the PC gaming initiative.

The French giant now joins publishers such as Activision, 2K Games, EA and LucasArts who have already committed to the Games for Windows brand.

"Today we and our partners announced several products that dramatically improve the experience - and fun - for Windows gamers," said Kevin Unangst, global director of Games for Windows at Microsoft.

"The addition of Ubisoft to the Games for Windows program and the continued innovation in PC gaming hardware is a huge win for gamers around the world who are experiencing the revival of the PC as a world-class gaming platform."

Microsoft also revealed that Train Simulator 2 will join the 60-plus titles currently carrying the Games for Windows brand.
