GCDC takes place prior to the GC - Games Convention in Leipzig, August 18th-20th, 2008.

For 27 years, David Perry has been making games and is considered one of the most influential and respected voices of the industry, he's spoken all over the world and was awarded the first ever Masters Degree in Interactive Development. For the very first time, Perry will deliver a keynote in Germany, presenting GCDC attendees his vision of the future of video games and the current progress of the world market. "I'm involved in a LOT of different things right now and will be bringing a lot of different perspectives together in my talk," Perry explained as he hinted at the direction of his speech.

Perry has created and worked on creating games from large and beloved brands and original properties including The Terminator, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Disney's Aladdin, Earthworm Jim, and The Matrix. With Acclaim Games, Perry focuses on the development of MMO, social network (Facebook / MySpace) and mass-market casual games. All of his current titles are based on the "free-to-play" business model and rely on a myriad of business models including in-game advertisements and micro-transactions in exchange for virtual items.

"David Perry has helped shape the history of video gaming having worked on some of the industry's best selling titles over the past few decades," said Frank Sliwka, project director of GCDC. "His keynote is definitely going to be one of the big highlights of this year's GCDC and we look forward to hearing his perspective on the global games market."
