Gamestation opens 250th store

Chain is "fastest growing games retailer," claims Gibbs

Retail chain Gamestation is to open its 250th store this Friday, in Meadowhall, Sheffield.

The company will host a party tomorrow evening for press, partners and publishers, and offer prizes to the first 50 customers through the doors on Friday morning.

"Meadowhall is the perfect location for our 250th store due to its huge footfall and catchment area," commented Martyn Gibbs, managing director.

"This opening really is a landmark for us and proves that Gamestation continues to be the UK’s fastest growing games retailer – a success we plan to drive forward into 2009."

The chain was acquired by GAME last year for around GBP 74 million.
