GameHorizon Conference

Press Release PROVIDED BY GAMES PRESS

For immediate release

Some of the most influential figures from the worldwide videogames industry will head to North East England next month for a major new future-facing conference aimed at keeping senior executives ahead of the curve.

The GameHorizon conference – on June 18-19 at the BALTIC Flour Mill in NewcastleGateshead – will be a must for publishers, developers, format holders, middleware and hardware firms looking to arm themselves with the knowledge they will need to develop the best strategies for the future of their company.

Chris Satchell, General Manager and Chief XNA Architect at Microsoft, and Seamus Blackley, head of the games department at one of Hollywood's most powerful agencies, CAA, will deliver the keynotes at the conference.

With just over a month to go, the line-up of speakers looks impressive, with some of the biggest players in the industry getting ready to share their thoughts about the future direction of this fast-growing industry. They include:

• Mark Rein, vice president of Epic Games

• Mario Rizzo, business development manager (online games) at Realtime Worlds

• Chris Lee, commercial director of FreeStyle Games

• Julien Merceron, chief technology officer at Eidos

• Rod Cousens, CEO of Codemasters

• Martin de Ronde, director of OneBigGame

• With more set to be announced

The conference is being organised by Codeworks GameHorizon, the leading business network for UK games companies.

Carri Cunliffe, director of the GameHorizon Conference, believes the event will give senior executives insights into the future direction of the games industry that cannot be found elsewhere.

"At present, there are many conferences which focus on analysing what has happened in the industry, or which give studios a place to show off their wares. By contrast, the GameHorizon Conference will consider what is around the corner,”

"With this event, we set ourselves the goal of only having speakers who could provide the sort of unique insights and knowledge that will genuinely help delegates plan for the future and become more successful as a result. We're confident that our line-up will be able to deliver on that goal."

A range of tickets for the conference – including one-day and full conference passes – are available at www.gamehorizonconference.com
