Gamecock announces plans for EIEIO 2008

Gamecock Media Group has announced plans for its second Expo For Interactive Entertainment, Independent and Original (EIEIO)

Gamecock Media Group has announced plans for its second Expo For Interactive Entertainment, Independent and Original (EIEIO).

The event is a showcase for independent developers, including console and PC games from developers such as Wideload, Red Fly Studio, Spark Unlimited, Replay Studios, Firefly Studios, and TimeGate Studios.

Additional publishers and developers will be announced in the coming weeks.

"While we have enjoyed providing an entertaining respite for the industry during the painful California-based trade shows of years past, it has always been our dream to show people how we really do it down in Texas," said Gamecock's Mike Wilson.

"We want this EIEIO to be part videogame expo, part backyard carnival, part indie revival. And, as EIEIO leads right into SXSW - the annual mecca for independent artists from all walks of life - we are heading-up the charge to get the best and most original games here."

EIEIO 2008 will be held at Stubb's Bar-B-Q on March 6 in Austin, Texas.

South by Southwest (SXSW) - a music, media, and film festival first held in 1987 - will take place from March 7-16 in Austin.
