Funcom delays Age of Conan again

Anticipated MMO now due May 20

Funcom has announced a further delay to its MMO Age of Conan — Hyborian Adventures, with the title now due May 20.

The game was originally due last year, but Funcom announced back in August that the game would need more time, pencilling in a March 2008 release date.

"The companies standing apart in the gaming market today are those with a relentless drive to achieve quality. Even though we regret delaying the launch, I am certain we made the right choice. I hope that our followers and fans will support our decision, and respect our commitment to quality," said Gaute Godager, producer and game director on Age of Conan.

The title is currently in development for the PC, with an Xbox 360 version also planned. The MMO has proved popular with critics and a steady hype builds around the title, which has secured more than 20 magazine covers since it was first announced.

Funcom is currently running a beta testing program for Age of Conan, and has prepared pre-order programs and a Collector's Edition of the retail boxed game.
