Fox, Warner, Disney, all in for PSN movies on day one

Sony has revealed that its movie download service will boast content from Fox Film, MGM, Lionsgate, Warner Bros., Disney, Paramount, Turner and Funimation on day one.

The service was announced by SCEJ last month, with Sony's Jack Tretton detailing further partners today during the company's E3 conference.

Rental content will sell from USD 1.99 per episode in standard definition, with high definition shows costing between USD 2.99 and USD 5.99. Movies can be purchased over the service for USD 14.99.

All content will also be portable to Sony's PSP handheld, and the PSN Store will begin offering movie and TV content from tonight in North America.

"GamesIndustry.biz is one of my starting tabs when I boot up... so it's always one of the first sites I see each day. It's good being able to catch up with what's happened in the US overnight, and in the UK before I'm awake first thing, and know that the stories will be accurate and thought out."
