Fox and Zombie team for Blacklight project

Videogame, movie and comic book series in development

Fox Entertainment and developer Zombie Studios are teaming for a joint game, movie and comic book series.

Fox Entertainment's Atomic label, which targets the 17-24 year old market, will produce the movie, while Zombie will produce the game.

"We are excited by the huge potential Blacklight has to succeed across multiple platforms - theatrical features, ?comics books, and video games," said Fox Atomic's Debbie Liebling. "It offers us a remarkable franchise opportunity for film."

"From the start, I have envisioned Blacklight as a story that spans all of the forms of media I enjoy most," added Mark Long, CEO for Zombie.

"It’s an ambitious project and I’ve been fortunate to find partners who share that same vision.?We are cooperating on the comic, game and movie at levels that are unprecedented in the industry."

The project is also in collaboration with Union Entertainment, a talent management agency based in Hollywood.

No release dates have been announced. Zombie works with Epic's Unreal Engine 3 on projects for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
