Ex-Guerrilla boss forms non-profit publisher

OneBigGame gains support from veterans and development teams

Martin de Ronde, co-founder of Killzone developer Guerrilla Games, has launched the industry's first non-profit videogame publisher.

The initiative aims to raise funds for charity and build awareness amongst youth audiences of the causes it supports.

The venture has received wide-spread backing from gaming veterans and development studios including Charles Cecil of Revolution Software, Gamelab's Eric Zimmerman, Avalanche Studios, Relentless, Kuju and Freestyle Games.

"OneBigGame is basically a global platform that will allow game developers to use their creative resources to do something good for the world," commented de Ronde.

"So far, industry response has been tremendous," he said.

"Over the past months, we have been conducting informal talks with a wide variety of industry people, and we are confident the development community is ready for a large scale industry-wide charity initiative."

OneBigGame will officially go public at the Game Developer's Conference in San Francisco next week, where it will be looking to extend relationships with the development community.
