ESA spends $980k on Lobbying in Q2

The Entertainment Software Association has spent USD 980,000 on lobbying activities in the second quarter, according to a disclosure report filed with the House clerk's office, as reported by AP.

The games industry trade group lobbied the US federal government on legislation involving first amendment issues, anti-piracy, free trade, internet governance, immigration and copyright enforcement.

In the three month period leading up to the report, the trade group lobbied Congress, the Federal Communications Commission, the US Copyright Office, the Department of Homeland Security, the FBI, the National Security Council and other agencies, according to the report.

This is up on the USD 714,000 the ESA spent on lobbying the federal government in the first quarter of 2008.
