ESA sends out invitations for E3

Event confirmed for July 11 - 13

The Entertainment Software Association has begun sending out 'save the date' invitations for this year's E3, which will take place between July 11 - 13.

The invite states that E3 will offer "the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with leading game company executives in an intimate setting, as well as network, socialise, and test pilot major company offerings".

All of this will take place in "an environment designed to ensure that you can get your business done efficiently and effectively".

Further details of the event, including schedules, transportation and travel planning, will be sent out along with the full invites in April.

This will be the first year the ESA hosts the new, smaller scale E3, which will take place at a new venue.

It's not yet clear how many companies are planning to attend, although Nintendo committed to the show as long ago as last August. Speaking at a GDC press event on Tuesday night, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Phil Harrison showed a short video of Killzone and promised more of the game at E3. Microsoft and a wide range of third-party publishers are also expected to attend.
