Engine Software/thePharmacy deal

Engine Software and thePharmacy today announce that they have formed a strategic alliance in order to further strengthen each studio, and reap the benefits of shared knowledge and technology. Both companies will remain to exist as independent developers, the alliance’s sole goal is to enable both involved companies to increase their presence in the market, and expand their customer base.

The alliance between these two companies, both already very successful in their respective markets, is a further indication of the growth of the Dutch games industry. The companies combined employ over 40 creative people, and have the development power and expertise to create more than ten games each year.

One of the first clients of the alliance is Studio100 ( www.studio100.tv), best known for their successes with TV/Movie productions such as “MegaMindy”, “The House Anubis” and the female band “K3”. A Nintendo DS game based on “The House Anubis” is already in production at this time, and will be followed shortly by a second Nintendo DS title based on MegaMindy.

Engine Software B.V., based in Doetinchem, The Netherlands, is one of the most experienced independent game development studios specializing in handheld games. Founded in 1995, Engine prides itself in being the oldest active game developer in the Netherlands. Engine Software is currently involved in game development for Nintendo DS™, PSP™, digiBLAST, PC Casual and Wii/WiiWare.

thePharmacy is an experienced developer of interactive internet, animation and game concepts. The Studio was founded in 2001 and is based in Uden near to Eindhoven, the high-tech centre of the Netherlands. thePharmacy developed games in the past for Cartoon Networks, Studio100 and Nickelodeon. Besides games, thePharmacy also develops commercial campaigns for A-List companies. thePharmacy has a strong presence in both the entertainment as the retail sector in the BeNeLux, and its goal is to produce high-quality products for the local markets.
