EA's BioWare Pandemic deal cleared by regulator

$775m acquisition approved by antitrust authority

Antitrust regulators in the US have cleared Electronic Arts' acquisition of VG Holding corp, parent company of development studios BioWare and Pandemic.

The publishing giant swooped for the two studios last month for USD 775 million.

The Federal Trade Commission included the deal as part of a list of 'early termination' reviews, where the review was completed within 30 days as required by the antitrust law, reports the Associated Press.

The deal is expected to officially complete in January.
