EA reports 15 double platinum titles in 2008

Electronic Arts has revealed that it was the number one publisher across all platforms in 2008, with a 19 per cent share of sales in North America and a 20 per cent share in Europe.

The company also reported that 15 of its titles had hit double platinum, selling more than 2 million copies each, a figure that was up from 10 for the 2007 fiscal year.

Additionally the company was the number one third party publisher for Nintendo's Wii platform in Europe taking a 15 per cent slice - up from 7 per cent the previous year - while it took an 11 per cent share in North America.

In reporting its 2008 fiscal results, Pogo's revenues surpassed the USD 100 million mark with growth of 41 per cent year-on-year.

Those statistics were set against a backdrop of increased revenues versus 2007, but an overall loss of USD 454 million.
