Spore, Mass Effect and Need for Speed now available in North America as well

Valve has announced that Electronic Arts titles will now be made available across Europe, following initial reports that a deal had been signed to cover North America.

It means that first Spore, Mass Effect, Need for Speed Undercover and FIFA Manager 2009 will be downloadable in "most of Europe," while Mirror's Edge, Red Alert 3 and Dead Space will be added "in the coming weeks," according to a brief statement.

There are over 15 million Steam accounts around the world, and in the last 18 months Valve has significantly grown the number of third party titles available on the PC-based platform.

It's also possible to purchase EA games digitally via the publisher's official website, and there's no indication that route for consumers will be closed as a result of the Steam deal.
