EA partners with DC Comics

Electronic Arts and DC Comics are teaming up to publish a comic series based on the forthcoming Mirror's Edge game.

The announcement comes as EA looks to expand as a media entertainment company, recently signing a deal with United Talent Agency to create movie and TV projects.

The story is written by scriptwriter Rhianna Pratchett and illustrated by Matthew Don Smith, with the first issue to be distributed at Comic Con International in San Diego

"Rhianna and DICE have created an amazing game with a great backstory," commented Hank Kanalz, VP and general manager for WildStorm.

"The characters have really come alive in the game, and we are pleased that we will be able to add to the canon of the Mirror's Edge universe with this project."

EA has previously worked with Marvel Comics on a number of projects, but terminated the deal earlier this year.
