EA makes Boom Blox official
Spielberg collaboration gets GDC showing
EA has officially announced Boom Blox, the Wii title due this summer and designed in collaboration with Steven Spielberg.
The game was revealed late last year when it was announced EA's Louis Castle would be discussing the project at GDC 2008 this month.
"My inspiration for this game came while I was playing the Wii for the first time," commented Spielberg.
"From the initial concept to what the game is today, it's always been built around the innovations the Wii brings to playing games. Boom Blox plays on the enjoyment of building and knocking down blocks, something that can appeal innately to kids and adults of all ages," he said.
EA and Spielberg announced a partnership to work on three titles back in 2005, and as well as Boom Blox are also known to be working on a contemporary action title.
The Game Developers Conference takes place February 18 — 22 in San Francisco.
Boom Blox is due for release this summer.
