EA announces mixed martial arts title

Peter Moore, president of EA Sports, has revealed that the company is developing a mixed marital arts title - EA MMA - for launch next year

Speaking at the company's E3 press conference, Moore said the game will deliver a "authentic and broad mixed martial arts experience" and include a "vast array of top fighters from around the world."

The game is being built by EA Tiburon and is "well in development" according to Moore, although nothing beyond a logo was shown of the game.

Moore also revealed that EA Sports Active, the publisher's direct attempt to capture a portion of the exercise gaming market, has sold over 600,000 units and a new expansion pack is due for the title this Christmas.
