Dracula - Undead Awakening

Fang-filled top-down shooter for the PSP, available from the PlayStation Store now.

United Kingdom, 30th November 2009 – Games publisher Chillingo today announced that Dracula – Undead Awakening is available for download from Sony Computer Entertainment Europe’s PlayStation® Store as a PSP™ Mini title for the PSP™ and PSP®go.

Dracula – Undead Awakening is a top-down shooter, with players controlling a vampire hunter who must combat hordes of undead enemies like zombies, ghouls, werewolves, vampire brides and more. Each level and every new attack wave contains more enemies, and they get stronger over time!

Dracula – Undead Awakening is set within multiple eerie locations, such as a desolate graveyard and a Gothic fortress. As enemies attack and the player defeats them, useful items may drop such as weapon upgrades, ammunition and potions. As they progress, players can access increasingly powerful weaponry including Machine Guns, Flamethrowers, Buzz-Saws and Grenade Launchers. Surviving each round of attacks also rewards players with experience, which they can spend to choose new skills and ability perks like Bloodlust, Ninja, Telekinesis and even Death Dice.

To ensure replayability, there is a variety of Dracula – Undead Awakening game modes including Survival, Rush, and Wave Attack. Each mode can last indefinitely depending upon the skill of the player, as enemies increase in number and strength until the player runs out of lives and is defeated.

“Dracula – Undead Awakening is perfect for fans of shooter games,” said Johnny Coghlan, Head of Publishing for Chillingo. “It’s an award-winning franchise, and this new PSP game will ensure that players keep coming back for more.”

“There is an incredible number of monsters, weapons and abilities in Dracula – Undead Awakening,” said Abstraction Games’ Producer and Lead Programmer, Ralph Egas. “It’s an infinitely replayable shooter of the very highest quality, as confirmed by press and gamers themselves.”

Screens and art for Dracula – Undead Awakening can be accessed right now from Chillingo’s FTP site ( http://www.chillingo.com/assets/DUA_PSP_minis/Dracula_Undead_Awakening_PSP_minis_launch_assets.zip).

Dracula – Undead Awakening for PSP can be downloaded from SCEE’s PlayStation® Store priced £3.99 or equivalent price.
