Disney teams with Bandai to release My Little Dogs
New IP in pet simulation genre from Tamagotchi makers
Living Mobile, part of the Walt Disney Internet Group, is releasing Bandai Namco's My Little Dogs - Kawaii Dogs for mobile carriers.
My Little Dogs joins the ranks of pet nurturing sims currently appearing on handheld formats, such as Nintendo's Nintendogs, I-play's My Dog and Ubisoft's Dogz.
"Our collaboration with Bandai is an example of Living Mobile's commitment to delivering compelling, high-quality entertainment and games to mobile phone users across Europe," said Sunil Gunderia, vice president of mobile for the Walt Disney Internet Group.
"My Little Dogs - Kawaii Dogs is one of the most engaging, interactive and intelligent pet-rearing games in the world. We feel this is a game that will appeal to a broad audience beyond the usual gamers, and we're excited to introduce it in the European market," added Gunderia.
Bandai is considered an expert in the creation of pet-rearing simulations, creating the original Tamagotchi toy line in the 1980s.
"Virtual pets are hugely popular with consumers all over the world," said Masayuki Matsuo, president of Bandai.
"From the earliest days of the Tamagotchi phenomenon, through to the current advanced generation of games such as Nintendogs and now My Little Dogs - Kawaii Dogs, we have seen that people enjoy raising, training and caring for their own pet."
