Court again dismisses WWE case against THQ, Jakks

Appeal of four-year-old alleged bribery and racketeering case dismissed by US Court of Appeals

World Wrestling Entertainment has lost its appeal against Jakks Pacific and THQ over alleged bribery and racketeering charges.

An appeal to the US District Court for the Second District has been dismissed, affirming a previous dismissal from the Connecticut Superior Court.

"We are pleased that both the Federal District Court and the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit have dismissed WWE's federal claims," said Jakks Pacific chairman and co-CEO Jack Friedman.

The WWE's legal battle against both THQ and Jakks Pacific dates back to 2004, when it accused both THQ and Jakks Pacific of using bribery to obtain the licensing rights to create videogames based on its professional wrestling league.

The case was dismissed in late 2008, a decision that has now been affirmed by a higher court.
