Codemasters appoints leading brand consultancy firm

Branded to assist publisher on key marketing campaigns

Software publisher Codemasters has announced the appointment of Branded, a leading brand consultancy firm that will work with the publisher to strengthen its brand identity as the company expands its global portfolio.

Aiding the firm in the development of a focused strategy for its future global expansion and move to new gaming formats, Branded will also consult with the publisher on key marketing campaigns, led by Branded COO Giles Thomas.

"Research has shown that the battle for the minds of today's consumers has never been fiercer and time spent playing video games is part of their digital entertainment make-up, along with online chat rooms and instant messaging," Thomas commented. "The challenge for us is to ensure that Codemasters fully exploits all the opportunities in the digital world to stay ahead of the game."

"Having known and respected the Branded team for many years, I'm delighted to add their understanding and expertise to Codemasters as we evaluate our corporate branding and strengthen our ongoing marketing activities," added Rod Cousens, Codemasters CEO.

Codemasters has recently formed a new division labelled Codemasters Online Gaming, which manages a portfolio of Massively Multiplayer Online games and the casual online gaming portal Funsta.com. Additionally, the publisher has made further moves into the mobile gaming sector with the establishment of Codemasters Mobile, designed to extend the company's gaming brands in the wireless space.
