Capcom continues Euro expansion with French division

Street Fighter publisher Capcom is to continue its expansion in Europe by opening a specialised division in France.

Following subsidiaries in the UK and Germany, Capcom hopes to further establish a presence in Europe to continue to capture market share outside of Japan.

"Capcom is particularly interested in capturing a greater share of the videogame software market in Europe, which has recently been growing rapidly," said the company.

"To accomplish this, Capcom must improve profitability by establishing a direct sales organisation and reinforce its marketing organisation at bases in Europe."

Capcom Entertainment France will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Capcom Entertainment Europe.
