Brash secures USD 400 million investment

The recently launched Brash Entertainment has secured USD 400 million to fund development of games based on movie, television and music properties.

Brash Entertainment has secured USD 400 million (EUR 296m) to fund development of games based on movie, television and music properties.

The ambitious outfit claims to have more than 40 licenses through partnerships with five major film studios, and 12 games currently in production including titles based on 300 and Saw.

"Brash is founded on the simple premise that top Hollywood creativity plus top game talent should equal great games," commented CEO Mitch Davis.

"We are laser focused on delivering high quality games. The other aspects of our business are left to the experts — best of breed partners we've tapped for their specific expertise."

The USD 400 million funding comes form a syndicate led by ABRY Partners.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment will act as distributor for Brash, promising to capitalise on opportunities created by movie and DVD releases.

"We are very excited about working with Brash as they grow into a major force in the gaming space," said Kevin Tsujihara, president of Warner Bros.

"We believe that our global game distribution services fir perfectly with the Brash strategic mission."
