Blizzard boss to speak at Austin GDC

Sulka Haro also signed up

CMP has announced that Michael Morhaime, president and co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment, will deliver a keynote speech at this year's Austin Game Developers Conference.

Also signed up is Sulake's Sulka Haro, who oversaw the creative development of globally successful virtual world Habbo. Since launching in 2000 Habbo has expanded into 29 countries and attracts millions of users each month.

"For online games and virtual worlds, Blizzardās World of Warcraft and Sulakeās Habbo Hotel have pioneered the way and set precedence on how MMOs can transcend into real communities as well as establish new e-commerce models," said Austin GDC content manager Jane Pinckard.

"We canāt wait to hear what the men behind these iconic games have to say regarding the future of online gaming."

The Austin GDC will take place from September 5 - 7 at the Austing Convention Center, Texas. To register, visit AustinGDC.net.
