Blizzard announces Diablo III

Blizzard Entertainment has announced a third instalment in hit action-RPG series Diablo at its Worldwide Invitational event in Paris.

A CG-animated video of Diablo III was shown at the event. The game's lead designer, Jay Wilson, then came onto the stage to demo the game, showcasing some of the title's classes and levels.

Several new gameplay features were revealed, including the addition of quick skills being added to mouse wheel and tab key as well as the left and right mouse buttons. Wilson promised the controls will be "so simple that you can play it with just the mouse".

The Diablo III announcement was made at the opening ceremony of Blizzard's Worldwide Invitiational event in Paris, at the Porte de Versailles Exposition Centre.

A more detailed description of the Diablo III's debut can be found at Eurogamer.
