AQUA (working title)

Press Release PROVIDED BY GAMES PRESS

The founders of the independent development studio Games Distillery, Juergen Reusswig and Slavo Hazucha, offer a first glimpse into their ambitious product portfolio at the Games Convention 2008 (20th to 24th August) in Leipzig, Germany.

The Games Distillery attends to the development of innovative games tailor-made for digital distribution. The studio will decisively influence the downloadable content market segment for next-gen consoles and PC with excellent quality, fresh product approaches and imaginative game design. Professional visitors can assure themselves about this at the Games Convention. Reusswig and Hazucha will present amongst others a playable version of their first project AQUA (working title) – an action-arcade game for Xbox 360 and PC.

AQUA aims at the largest target group on the market: action-arcade players. With this project Games Distillery is going to set new standards for this hugely popular genre. The game stands out with innovative, Victorian-era-inspired maritime setting, appealing storytelling and exceptional audiovisual quality.

Creative Director Slavo Hazucha about the development concept of the project: “With AQUA we will position a very competitive product in the mainstream genre introducing elements that are so far solely found in retail full-price titles in the Xbox and PC download market.“

“We are eagerly awaiting the first presentation of our titles to the industry professionals at the Games Convention. Their feedback will be a major indicator for us,” adds Development Director Juergen Reusswig.

Apart from the presentation of AQUA, Games Distillery will also offer an outlook at further titles of its project pipeline currently in development.

Artwork commentary:

The AQUA pilot-artwork depicts the key content of the game –spectacular gigantic steamships go into battle in a fantastic adventure within a Victorian-era–inspired setting.
