App Store helps boost Gameloft sales 15%

Mobile publisher sees Apple sales rise 113% in Q2

Gameloft has revealed increased second quarter sales of €33.6 million, up 15 per cent on the previous year, due to a significant rise in iPhone and iPad games.

The company said sales through the App Store were up 113 per cent. The company is also celebrating success on other smartphones and traditional Java and Brew handsets.

"The recent and future releases of high-performance smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Nokia and Google should continue sustaining Gameloft's growth in the upcoming quarters," said the company.

"Additionally, the release of new devices perfectly suited for videogames such as Apple's iPad should allow Gameloft to continue its diversification on other platforms and provides the company with interesting relays for growth."
