All future Sony Japan PSP titles to be released via download

Sony Japan has announced that all future first-party PSP games will be available for download alongside a UMD release.

The service kicks off the same day as users are able to access the PSP Store directly using the handheld, confirmed this morning as October 15.

The first batch of downloadable titles from Sony Japan due before the end of the year include Secret Agent Clank, Patapon 2 and LocoRoco 2.

A similar service is yet to be announced for the US or Europe.
