Activision signs Monster Jam licence

Multi-year agreement for global truck show

Activision has inked a multi-year deal with Live Nation to develop games based on the Monster Jam monster truck tour.

The first game in the series is expected to be available this Christmas and will feature all the vehicles associated with the popular racing event.

"Activision is excited to be partnering with Live Nation to bring Monster Jam to videogame fans," commented David Oxford, general manager of Activision publishing.

Live Nation is a promotions company specialising in live entertainment and holds an equity interest in over 160 venues worldwide including Wembley Arena, the House of Blues and The Fillmore in San Francisco.

"We feel we have found a partner in Activision that shares our vision for both an authentic Monster Jam game that will appeal to the core Monster Jam fans, and a game which will also appeal to gamers by going above and way beyond anything we could do at the live events," offered Charlie Mancuso, president of Live Nation.

"Activision's strong relationships with retailers in addition to their strategic marketing and promotional direction for the game were key in our decision to partner with them," he added.
