GAME CFO Mark Gifford resigns

He will leave at the end of March

GAME's Chief Financial Officer has resigned.

Mark Gifford has been part of the retailer since August 2015. He will stay at the business until the end of March in-order to ensure a 'smooth transition' for CEO Martyn Gibbs and the finance team.

He leaves the firm having managed the sale of Multiplay Digital for £19 million to Unity, and negotiated a new long-term bank facility in Spain. GAME says that Gifford is departing to pursue "other business and personal interests".

"I would like to thank Mark for the significant contribution he has made to our business," CEO Gibbs said in a statement. "Mark has worked incredibly hard to create a solid platform, from which we are transforming GAME.  All of the team would like to take this opportunity to wish him the very best for the future."

Gifford added: "The business has achieved a great deal in the last two years and I have enjoyed being a part of the management team at GAME.  I shall be working with the Company to ensure a smooth and effective transition as the Group continues to drive its competitive gaming and esports strategy. I would like to wish GAME and all of the team the very best for the future."
