Ghost Recon: Wildlands is the UK's biggest release of the year so far

LEGO Worlds debuts at No.3

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is the most successful boxed game launched in the UK this year.

The game immediately snatches the crown from last week's Horizon: Zero Dawn, which takes a slight tumble to No.2. The game follows a year on from the success of Ubisoft's Tom Clancy's The Division, which remains the most successful launch for any game released during Q1.

It's a week full of new releases, and in good news for the market, they've all done pretty well. LEGO Worlds from Warner Bros charts highly at No.3 and Square Enix's acclaimed PS4 game Nier Automata makes it to No.6.

There were some concerns within the trade that the busy early March release window may hurt some games - akin to the busy release window in October and November, which took its toll on a number of high profile releases. Yet there's no evidence of that happening so far.

In fact, when you factor in the recent solid performances of For Honor and Resident Evil 7, it's almost as if the anomalies of Christmas didn't really happen at all.

Outside of the Top Ten, there is one solitary additional new releases in the form of Mario Sports Superstars for 3DS, which made it at No.37. Last week's No.2, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, drops 70% in Week Two sales and falls to No.4. This isn't especially unusual for a major launch title for the game, and its weekly performance will have as much to do with the availability of Switch stock as it will the popularity of the product itself.
