Gram Games to invest £4m as it moves headquarters to London

Mobile developer Gram Games is moving its global headquarters to London and investing £4m in expanding its operations over the next 12 months.

Gram was previously based in Istanbul, Turkey, although it opened a new London studio last year. Now the firm has announced it will co-ordinate its worldwide business from the UK capital, with plans to hire dozens of new recruits by the end of the year.

Several hires have already been made that "expand capabilities about development, design and marketing" with plans for 30 new jobs to be created. Gram believes the "considerable talent pool available in the UK" will help it find the people needed to "further extend [the company's] global reach".

"The move to open our global HQ in London is another exciting step forward for the company," said CEO Mehmet Ecevit. "We've always been focused on people, as well as culture, and the talent pool available in the UK is second to none. We have planned significant investment with £4m initially earmarked for year one into the new office, to get setup and bring in top talent."

Gram Games is best known for mobile puzzle games 1010, Merged and Six. References to the type of people it is looking to hire suggests it will continue focusing on "casual and in-app purchase based titles".

Gram Games isn't the only games firm to invest heavily in the UK over the past year. CCP moved its global management to London, while last month Rovio announced it was opening a brand new studio in the city.
