Gram Games opens London studio

Turkish mobile developer pushes into midcore games with new office

The Turkish developer Gram Games is opening a new office in London, which will be the focal point of the company's push into the midcore mobile market.

Gram Games, which was founded in Istanbul, has so far concentrated on casual puzzle games like 1010!, Merged! and, most recently, Six!. Overall, the company's games have been downloaded more than 75 million times.

Now, Gram will build on that success with a new "operational base" in London, which head of strategic partnerships Alex Willink described as, "a critical strategic move." Specifically, a strategic move towards midcore free-to-play games with longer development times.

"Our intention is to become an iconic game studio of the mobile era and beyond," Willink said in a statement. "We will continue to develop casual titles, some of our existing team and new hires will be focusing on mid core titles to diversify our portfolio."

Gram expects its London studio to have a team of 40 to 50 people within a year.
