Splitter Critters was the big winner at the Indie Prize Awards

RAC2's game was the only game to pick up two awards at the Casual Connect indie showcase

Splitter Critters was the only game to win two awards in the Indie Prize at Casual Connect USA yesterday.

The Vancouver-based developer RAC7 was awarded Best Game Design and Most Innovative Game, making it the most successful of 100 finalists chosen from almost 300 entries. Other big winners at the event were Blades of Revenge, a game from the Thai developer Infinity Levels Studio that took home Best Mobile Game, and Evilibrium 2: Soul Hunters from the Russian indie Serge Himmelreich, which was voted the Best Game in Show by Casual Connect attendees.

And two winners featured prominently in our coverage of the event. Edward McNeill won Best VR Game for Tactera, just a few hours before he spoke engagingly on the subject of exclusivity in the nascent virtual reality market. Colabee Studios, which was founded by the developers of the indie hit Never Alone, won Best Game Narrative for its debut project The Forest Song. Our interview with Colabee's Dima Veryovka and Sean Vesce will be published in the coming weeks.

The remaining winners in the Indie Prize Award are listed below:

  • Best Game Audio: Fossil Echo (Awaceb)
  • Best Game Art: Labyrinth (Free Range Games)
  • Best Multiplayer Game: Mind The Traps (Dissonance Entertainment)
  • Best Kids and Family Game: The Foos (CodeSpark)
