Sumo Digital's Carl Cavers and Vlambeer's Rami Ismail will form part of the first International Advisory Board for NASSCOM GDC, the biggest game developer conference in India.
Cavers and Ismail will be joined on the International Advisory Board by Jumpizen's Mark Skaggs, Media Create's Sho Sato and Samsung's Ravi Beniwal. The goal of the board is to build relationships with experienced individuals and entities across the globe, and encourage their participation in NASSCOM GDC.
Sumo Digital, for example, has offices in both the UK and India, making Cavers a perfect bridge to developers in Britain and across the Europe. Media Create's Sato can perform a similar function for executives and developers in Japan, while Vlambeer's Ismail is a relentless traveller to countries with development scenes of any size.
"The Indian developer community can benefit greatly from getting international exposure," said Rajesh Rao, chairman of NASSCOM Gaming Forum, and one of the Indian industry's pioneers. "We can facilitate this with a mix of inbound initiatives like bringing more international participation at NGDC and outbound activities like taking delegations to mature markets".
And this year, NASSCOM GDC will move to a new location: the Hyderabad International Convention Centre, which Rao described as, "one of the best venues in the country." According to Rao, support from the government of Telangana has allowed the conference to expand this year, meaning a larger expo floor, an area dedicated to virtual reality, and two new sessions tracks: Production and Serious Games, which will be added to those on Indies, Game Design, Publishing/Advertising, Game Art and Technology. Overall, NASSCOM expect to host 80 speakers across its seven tracks.
NASSCOM Game Developer conference will take place in Hyderabad, India from November 10 to 12, 2016. Anyone interested in speaking at the event can submit a proposal by July 30.
