Lucid Sight raises $3.5m in Series A

"The only place to effectively promote a VR experience is within another VR experience"

Lucid Sight, the LA VR studio behind Poly Runner VR and Space Bit Attack, has announced $3.5 million in Series A funding from Rana Capital Partners, B.V. and Salem Partners.

"This capital will allow us to release high-quality and free ad-supported games across all VR platforms at a higher pace," said CEO Randy Saaf.

The funding will be used to support Lucid Sight's moves in the VR advertising market. The company has also released a VR Ad SDK.

"Traditional flat advertising on TV, web, or mobile can't convey VR's sense of immersion, presence, and scale. The only place to effectively promote a VR experience is within another VR experience," added Saaf.

"Ads bring a new revenue stream to independent developers like Lucid Sight. Many developers will find that they will make more money giving away their game ad supported than selling it."
