Strike Club bowling tournament to raise £30,000 for Special Effect

32 Teams to take part in first ever UK industry ten-pin contest

32 Teams from across the UK's games industry are coming together for the inaugural Strike Club bowling tournament, which takes place at the Ham Yard hotel in London on Wednesday, April 27.

Sponsored by Sega, Backed VC, Miniclip, Space Ape, Square-Enix Collective, playhubs, Testology, Upsight and Marcussen Consulting, the ten-pin competition will raise over £30,000 for Special Effect, a charity which designs and builds bespoke gaming hardware for the severely physically disabled.

Teams taking part include Sumo Digital, King, Media Molecule, Apple, Hutch, Google, Future Games of London, ustwo, Fireproof and Gamer Network's own EGX events team, who are organising the event in partnership with Chris Lee.

"SpecialEffect is a fantastic cause that the entire industry is proud of," said Lee. "We're delighted to be able to support them with Strike Club. With over 150 people confirmed to attend, from the UK's most exciting studios, it promises to be a great evening and the beginning of what we hope will become an annual event."

Although the team roster for this year's Strike Club is full, there are still sponsorship opportunities and spectator tickets available. Contact Elspeth Lawson at elspeth.lawson@egx.net for further details.
