Supplier limiting second batch of headsets to one per customer

Sony's virtual reality headset, which received a date and price yesterday, is already sold out in France, Germany and Italy via Amazon. It's not known how many units were allocated to the retailer in each territory.

After selling out of an initial allocation in the UK after around ten minutes, a second batch is now on sale in Great Britain, but Amazon has limited sales to one per customer and has been unable to provide a guaranteed delivery date. UK retailer GAME is asking for a 100 deposit on all PSVR pre-orders.

Yesterday's announcement pinned the price of a PSVR headset at 349, $399, €399 and 44,980 Yen - significantly lower than either of its major competitors. However, those prices do not include either the PlayStation Eye camera required for all PSVR use, or the Move controllers which many games will use.

I have also pre-ordered - it has been a dream of mine since a young boy to experience VR is some form or shape. With Sony's pricing, I am able to afford this experience (considering the impact of the exchange rate in countries across Africa) and am grateful to be a part of VR's first forays into immersive gaming experiences, in what will surely become a game-changing technology (excuse the pun) :-)
