Microsoft kicks off the week's festivities with a bang as Sony sits on the sidelines

At the top of the hour, all eyes will be on Microsoft as it kicks off its Gamescom 2015 press briefing. You can watch the live stream of the broadcast right here.
This year's event is a chance for Microsoft to gain ground on Sony, which opted not to run its own press event in light of the shorter-than-usual span between this year's E3 and Gamescom conferences. While Microsoft will likely make time for Halo 5, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, and other titles talked about at its E3 conference, the Xbox One maker is also expected to showcase some titles that took a backseat in June's show, including Scalebound, Quantum Break, and Crackdown
