NativeX names new CEO

"We are continuing to develop new innovative ad formats"

App marketing specialists NativeX has a new CEO in Robert Weber, formerly head of sales at the company, which he helped to co-found in 2000.

"We're focusing a lot of resources on native video advertising product Lightening Play, which has grown 10x adoption since launching last fall with no signs of slowing down," said Weber.

"We are continuing to develop new innovative ad formats to take advantage of the power of video for user retention and long term value."

He replaces Andy Johnson, who will stay with NativeX as chairman of the board.

"Native advertising is the future, and I am thrilled to get involved with this forward-thinking company," said company advisor (and founder of Electronic Arts) Trip Hawkins.

"Every major publisher on mobile and web has their eye on native advertising right now. NativeX is proving that we as an industry can do better than banner ads."

NativeX has worked with companies like Scopely, DeNA, Storm 8 and SGN.
