Fingerprint snaps up Cognitive Kid and Scribble Press

Expansion in the $3 billion education market

Fingerprint, creator of a network of apps, game and e-books for children, has acquired Cognitive Kid and Scribble Press in its latest deal.

"The market for apps and games targeted at kids is more than $3 billion and there are more children using mobile devices than ever before," explains CEO Nancy MacIntyre.

"It's our goal to find best-in- class educational content and bring it to the Fingerprint family of mobile networks. We're thrilled to add Scribble Press and the popular Ansel and Clair series because they're great examples of apps and products that inspire curiosity, creativity, and truly inspire a love of learning."

Scribble Press allows children to make digital books, with over 3 million created so far. Cognitive Kid's portfolio features the Ansel And Clair series of games which have won a number of awards for their educational value, including a nod from AASL Best Apps for Teaching & Learning committee.

"Fingerprint impressed me with their approach around distribution and commitment to continued development of our learning brand. I am excited to get Ansel and Clair into the hands of even more learners around the world," added its CEO Suma Raju.

MacIntyre founded Fingerprint after learning the educational games trade at Leapfrog. Her CTO is former CTO/co-founder of PlayFirst Brad Edelman and Activision Blizzard veteran George Rose sits on the board of directors. The company's portfolio of apps and games now stands at over 800 items.
